A New Look For Taste Tibet!

Taste Tibet logo

Most people get this stuff together long before they launch their business, but Taste Tibet started in a hurry, and we have been so busy making momos that it has taken us almost three years to come up with a logo! Many thanks to Nick, the brilliant Brighton-based designer who took us on and came up with this fabulous piece of imagery. We love it!

Nick himself may not have realised how apt and powerful his three momo-like mountains really are, but to us they are a clear representation of Tibet in its three mountains parts: U-Tsang, Kham and Amdo, the three provinces of the old Tibetan empire.

Inside Tibet, the Tibetan people of Amdo, in the north, are known as our country’s best chefs. I myself am from Kham, and while we Khampas may not be so famed for our culinary skills, we are renowned for our resilience and tenacity, two qualities that nobody in street food can do without.

Our logo is going up on our festival banner for the first time this weekend, when we return to Wood Festival for the third year running. Our loyal Wood following have witnessed the progression of Taste Tibet from our small gazebo beginnings to service out of our beautiful Tibetan tent. This year, find us under our new festival banner in a new location near the main festival stage!

Wood is a sell-out this year! If you have your ticket, see you there. If not, find us as usual in Oxford’s Gloucester Green market. We are currently there Wednesdays only, 9am-4pm.
