This week, exactly one year to the day since Taste Tibet opened the doors to our place on Magdalen Road, we will actually be marking a different milestone. Everyone, they say, enjoys fifteen minutes of fame, and Taste Tibet is getting five of these this Saturday 13th November with our first appearance on national TV!
BBC1’s Saturday Kitchen team came to film with us back in August when we were first announced as finalists in the Best Street Food or Takeaway category of the BBC Food and Farming Awards. Some of you even agreed to place yourselves front of camera to share your love of momos – we hope that you make the cut!!
A short film about Taste Tibet and the work that we’ve done feeding our NHS heroes and friends in the community will air at around 10am this coming Saturday, with real-time momo-eating by Rick Stein, amongst other food legends (Yeshi and I will be making an early morning dash to the studios in London to dish up from behind the scenes). All of this means that we won’t be throwing a party on our one year anniversary, but you can join us at the restaurant for lunch and dinner on the day – the doors will be open and we will be enjoying our moment.
