We’ve been closed for two weeks but we have not been sitting about. Those of you who peered in and spotted all the cameras will have had a good guess at is going on behind the scenes. Back home in Tibet another photoshoot has also been taking place which will provide the perfect backdrop. We shall say no more for now, but suffice to say there are exciting projects afoot.
Back in so-called normal life, we bring exciting news! Our place on Magdalen Road is re-opening this week for takeaways, now with a dine outdoors element. We put tables and chairs out yesterday for a test run and we’re really excited at how many people we will be able to seat.
As you can see from the video, the outdoor dining area stretches all the way down the back of the restaurant on Catherine Street, where you will be able to perch outside under an awning for the best spot of all: a view into the kitchen, and the scent of fresh momos.
All this + booze! We have a great selection of beers and some much fêted new canned wine, courtesy of The Copper Crew, customers of Taste Tibet from their student days here in Oxford, when we were still serving out of our tent in Gloucester Green. Our license covers us for both on and off-site sales, so enjoy as you wish!
Our opening times this week are as follows:
Thursday: lunch 11am – 2pm / dinner 5pm – 9pm
Friday: lunch 11am – 2pm / dinner 5pm – 9pm
Saturday: lunch 11am – 2pm / dinner 5pm – 9pm
The new rules state that everyone must check in when they arrive (previously this was just one person per group). If you don’t have the COVID app on your phone we will have a paper and pen out for you. Thank you for helping us to observe these new regulations.
This week’s menu will be live on our website on Wednesday. Please note that outdoor tables will be available on a first come first served basis only – we are not taking bookings. You can still pre-order for takeaways, however. Call us on 01865499318 from 4pm on the day, or just turn up.
Looking forward to seeing you soon! Blue skies and low temperatures remind Chef of Tibet. We can’t wait to watch the seats fill up in our sunny outdoor space.
