Happy new year, momo lovers!
We are just back from a mini-break in Wales and realising that some New Year’s resolutions need to be made.
1. Spend more time with Master and Little Miss Taste Tibet. They are suddenly very big (they get it from mum, I always say), and we know we must enjoy them while they still allow us near.
2. Get out more! We love our new premises, but we miss the nomadic life and the great outdoors. We have some firm festival plans already in place for the summer (Glastonbury and the Hay Literary Festival among them), but for best results, Yeshi needs regular airing.
3. Exercise. Everyone pledges to do more of this in the new year, but for Yeshi waking up with sore legs after a short stroll in the Welsh hills was a shock given the mountains and miles he once walked in Tibet on a daily basis. At Taste Tibet he’s on his feet all day, but during momo-making the legs barely move. Standing still turns out to be harder than keeping them moving. Plus they say it’s worse for the cardiovascular system than sitting down!
4. Seize all the opportunities. In Wales, this was about the little things – mainly drinking as much good water as we could (Yeshi showed us how it’s done in Tibet in the video below). Back in real life, we are flexing our muscles to make the most of what 2022 will surely offer. Very soon it will be the Tibetan New Year of the Tiger, a zodiac sign that Tibetans say is wild and intense and creative. Tiger years are all about going big or going home. We’re going big and we’re going to enjoy every moment!
