Seeking Extroverts

Yeshi started the Taste Tibet stall in 2014, shortly after we had our daughter. For years he had been the primary carer for our son, all the while mulling over ideas to bring momos to Oxford’s open market. My maternity leave finally gave him the space and time to set up shop – great!

As for me, I had no plans to be a part of things. I can’t make momos, and was grateful to have two small children to hide behind. I am quite introverted by nature and couldn’t picture myself at the stall. I drove Yeshi to and from the market, and ran some of the errands, but this was his gig.

It all went too well. Eventually I had to strap the baby to my back and lend a hand. In the end, I never went back to work. And now here we are – today Taste Tibet is my full-time job as well as Yeshi’s.

You don’t find me in our restaurant very often because I still enjoy the bits behind the scenes more than the front-facing stuff. But a couple of members of staff are leaving us over the next few weeks for great things, so I’m building my energy to rejoin our amazing front of house team.

Unless you’d like to replace me? We are looking for full-time or part-time staff to serve out the front at Taste Tibet. You will need to have some experience working in a busy restaurant environment, and be able to multitask and learn fast. Wednesday: 5-9.30pm (dinner only)

Thursday -Saturday: 12-3pm (lunch) / 5-9.30pm (dinner)
