Back To School

Oxford – we are back!

It’s been an awesome summer talking Tibet and getting our food out to audiences far and wide. We’ve pitched up at live music events including GlastonburyGreen Man and the Cambridge Folk Festival, and demoed our momos at a range of stellar events. We are deeply grateful to our hard-working team for their part in a hugely fun and successful festival season. There have been emotional goodbyes as we bid farewell to some much-loved TT team members.

The start of the new school year is a new start for Taste Tibet as well. We are bringing fresh faces onto the team, and also old ones. We’re really excited to welcome Daniel back to the restaurant. He ran the kitchen at Flo’s for a while and rejoins our front-of-house team full-time this week.

Our niece Eve (pictured to the right of lovely Tara) is also helping out during September. She’s studying at Oxford Uni but hails from Glasgow, an accent that you cannot miss. Eve and her sister Anna have been invaluable TT team members at the festival stall over the years. It’s family business, folks!

The amazing TT kids – Master and Little Miss – spent their entire summer on the road with us. People like to ask us what we “do” with them while we work. This year they were old enough to help out for the first time, but they spent most of their time playing games and reading books at the back of the stall. At Glastonbury we were close enough to the Other Stage for them to take themselves off to watch a few gigs. The highlight was the Years & Years set, featuring Olly Alexander in thigh-high leather boots and a sheer S&M-styled playsuit. The kids are still unpicking it all.

Taste Tibet reopens on Wednesday evening – we cannot wait. Make sure to check the website for this week’s menu. On Thursday we open for lunch as well, running lunch and dinner through until Saturday night. We’ll also be stocking a limited range of freezer food items to add to your basket. Come and browse!

Here are our opening hours in full:

Wednesday: 5-9.30pm (dinner only)
Thursday – Saturday: 12-3 (lunch) / 5-9.30pm (dinner)

You are welcome to phone ahead with your takeaway order – just turn up otherwise. If you want to dine with us we don’t take table bookings, but don’t worry – we always manage to fit everyone in.

Hope everyone has had a great summer. We can’t wait to see you again!

Over and out,

Julie and Yeshi
